I agree, reflow on PDFs seems to me a bit useless. After all, if Reflow could work well, then probably the big screen wouldn't be that useful anymore.

"Landscape mode" should make all types of PDFs out there perfectly readable.

Just for info. I have installed the two updates jbcupdate-os.bin and jbcupdate.bin without problem.
I haven't really looked at all the updates as advertised; however, the wifi is now activated. I chose automatic IP, selected my wireless router, entered the pass-frase and connected to it. The only reason I knew that I had connected, was by looking at my router DHCP Client Table where the Jetbook color appeared with an assigned IP.

I don't see a browser yet. Maybe April fools day!!!

i mentioned this in my thread. when scribbling the device stops accepting scribbling input every so often to "save" the scribble. when it does s little floppy disc icon shows on the screen

if you cannot reflow it, you'll end up like the 9,7" Kindle DXG on the left:

Reflow is a must with lots of multi column magazines, technical manuals, scientific publishings, even on 9,7". You'll need at least an 11-12" display to eliminate the need of the reflow. And it would still be a very comfortable feature for your eyes.

One of the reasons is that the docs are small enough to fit one page and you did not play with the font size
Reflow becomes effective and you see visible results i.e the page is bigger that the screen and the reader efficiently rearrange the objects on the page

This is practically impossible for many PDF documents as the format itself is a a fixed layout created with printing in mind. There are text documents with very few ans small images where the reflow is piece of cake and others where it is impossible

The other aspect not shown by your tests is reflowing in the context of font resizing. For HTML and epub you change the font size and the document is rearanged to fit the page width in the new conditions. Your pictures do not show that

Probably the first page indicated would have shown us that since that one is wider format and it clearly can not be reflowed! Rotation != Reflow

By my opinion to sell reflowing as possible with PDFs is partially misleading.

The files fit with no need to reflow.

I didnt edit them or modify at all, i loaded them to the device and then opened it up. They really look great----

AND can you imagine if you actually had all the instructions to ALL the items in your house on the jetBook Color - lol, nothing would ever get lost or overflowing with papers!!!

But the save icon that appears is convenient instead of clicking 'Save' each time.

You still owe us the first image indicated. That would have been the only one that could show us something.

Going by your video, it looks like I would have plenty of time to do any
normal annotation before your glitch kicks in. Nothing that I can think of
would require any single continuous line to be as long as your zig-zag was
to reach the point of encountering the problem.

other readers i have tried that allow scribble input- Irex, Samsung, Plastic Logic. Sony, PocketBook , Onyx - did not require any "saving " moment or at least it was unnoticeable. I dont even remember the Hanvon version in color or b&w doing that at CES

Again reflow does not need to be imposed by the page size
Reflow is something that kicks in when the font size requires you to rearrange the objects on the page in order to fit the text and the content in the same area as before changing the font.

It might also work if the document is too wide (the case of the first page indicated above)

So with that document if reflow works you should be able to change the font size and that will rearrange the text and probably the pictures on the page

In order for a document to be too wide to fit on a screen, we're talking about A3 (double the size of lettertype) format. JBC resizes most pages to fit the screen. On a lettertype/A4 PDF the letters are pretty small, but still readable.
On A3 they'd be too small to read, but yet again, they'd probably be still readable if you'd try hard enough.

You don't want to reflow a PDF file, but view it as it is! One of the main reasons I bought this device!
