It was already discussed here. I hope it will be possible in final release of 1.7 or at least predefined times become much longer.
For the time being I have sleep mode timer set to never and put the reader to sleep mode manualy. And I switch it off only occasionaly. |

Ah, sorry.
Yes, mine is set to never too. But being used to the Hanlin V3, which can be left on forever, i forget shutting it down many times. BTW I would say that shutting it down is better since it seems that the M92 continues consumpting battery even in stand-by mode. |

It probably consumes energy in stand-by mode, but I have to charge it only once 2-3 weeks, so I do not see any problem. And I like the screensavers while in stand-by, in off the screen is blank. There could be also a 'screensaver', but Onyx decided otherwise (Probably to help the user to distinguish between stand-by and off....)

OK, good! I will try.
Concerning the dictionary. It might be fine if the 'issue' 1) is corrected in the final 1.7. It should be easy, I hope. 1) If I choose alphabetic view (circles with a b c), the formating tags are displayed instead of used. Could they be at least ommited - not displayed, or beter formated text shown? It is not issue of particular dictionary. I tried 4 different dictionaries. The same text is dispalyes correctly (formated using tags) when looking at particular word. So, the software is able to interpret the text correctly, but in Alphabetic View is not interpreted and everything (including formating tags) is dispalyed. |

notes live a dangerous life...
@Booxtor: I just found a couple of lines in onyx's watchdog.sh script that have me a bit worried...
There's a 32MB partition mounted as /root where config DBs and web history are stored... along with the scribble notes. Now watchdog.sh checks for free space in /root ... when it finds it too low, it successively deletes the web_browser.db, notes_template... and... notes . I find it a _very_ bad idea to store user data in a location a watchdog script risks sweeping... |

I don't know if anyone has brought it up already (I haven't read the whole thread), but is there any chance of having multicolumn support when reading pdfs (and djvus)?

1.7 (26.3.) vs 1.6(5.1. + Calibration fix) (using v1.6 since yesterday)
Wishes Bugs and so on 1.7: Pageturn needs longer than in 1.6, in some PDFs about twice the time 1.7 seems to be slower in every situation except scribbling 1.7: M92 always stops working(!) after displaying a page for a long time (15 mins+) I have to shutdown pressing the ON/OFF switch till screen flickers. No problems with v1.6 for the last 2 days. 1.7: In Power Management accu performance not displayed (%) I've activated screen refresh after every page turn but the way the screen refresh is performed does not refresh gray parts so you can see the text, graphics from the former displayed page. Need to refresh 2 or more times to fully get rid of it. Wishes: Possibility to add a blank page in a PDF for extended scribbling When annotating not only text should be able to added, also scribbling Possibilty to highlight text even if text is a "graphic" like the use of a highlighter When scribbling show a top bar (or bottom) where you can chooses different colours (green, blue, red ...) displayed in different gray's. Add an eraser option (useable like a real eraser) Set landscape / portrait mode for documents individually Better way of calibrating. More points, better algorithm. Wacom digitizer should be able to be more accurate than M92 is when better calibration is performed. greetings, tugler |

I wish list is only one thing :
Please fix some thing that the normal LCD can display text exactly like e-ink LCD and colorfully like the led LCD. Then all of you and me can enjoy reading very ideally in every aspects in devices like iPads. ![]() just kidding, thank you all for your supporting M92. I have 1 question, if I intended to use english-Chinese dictionary and I up the FW to the final 1.7 which may not has it integrated as before, can I just install the dictionary myself easily ? |

There is another thing which would be interesting but maybe more complicated to implement (it may also imply some "sensitive" matters
![]() Also, i have been looking at wiki (thanks kodomo), however i have a newbie question i could not find there: Where is the directory structure in the M92? I suposse it must be in some hidden partition or something because i cant find it anywhere. |

This can be done quite easily on the PC with Briss or ScanScissors. It would be probably too much work for the cpu of the reader. |
