The Canadian website still doesn't have the new model. They're displaying the 650 as being out of stock and 350 still seems to be available!

Maybe it wasn't official, I don't remember. But it was the first date I've noticed in connection with the T1. Still I'm not sure what exactly "coming" means, that's just marketing talk.

Woo Hoo!!! I snatched up the last Sony 950 at my local Best Buy. I went to buy an on sale mouse and decided to check out the Kindle again. I recently posted my interest in the Kindle sub-forum. As I was working my way around the eReader section I saw the display for the Sony 350 (clearanced) and the clearance tag for the 950 ($199), but no display unit. Not realizing that they're kept underneath the display I asked the salesperson if they have any in stock. As soon as I said this, I looked down and saw one left. They have several 350s remaining.

This is probably the last of the 7" eink devices. If Sony don't bring them back, it's over.

No. For $40 more I'd rather have the bigger screen.

I wouldn't want the text to reflow in this case.

That's a good point. and without extra menu options (which annoys many I'm sure) I don't know how you could choose to have reflow or not, depending on the situation. It'd be one or the other.
For zooming in onto data on a single part (picture or table), I can see reflow being semi-idiotic (you zoom in and the table or list changes position or the photo shrinks to fit).
But the option to reflow would allow you to pick EXACTLY the size of text you want for the book, instead of choosing between a *measly* 8.
I don't know if any reader has this but if the kobo has 17 sizes, you can see where the advantage would be.

I bought the 950 via preorder with Sony last October. I have found it to be a fabulous device. I was interested in the new T1 (primarily to replace my Sony 505), but after seeing the release information, I'm sticking with my 950 until it dies and is out of extended warranty. It does everything very well. The only thing that appeals to me about the T1 is the weight; I admit the 950 is a bit on the heavy side.

But frankly, I see no reason why an owner of a 950 would give it up for the T1; truthfully, I see no reason why one would give up the 505 for a T1. I just don't find anything exciting about the T1. I paid premium prices for my Sonys but have no regrets about having done so. The 505 will be 4 years old in a couple of months and it still provides hours of daily pleasure. My wife loves it. I wonder if anyone will be talking about their T1 4 years after purchase.

Yeah, I'm very happy that I've found one. I loved it from the day of release, but was still sour from paying $400 for the 900 less than a year prior.

Wow! You were lucky! Many people had to buy the floor models to get that deal. Good luck finding a case. You might want to do some searching through old threads to see what people have been using.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to get a NOOKcolor case from Barnes and Noble. I just tried it with the one I have now and it fits perfectly in the 3-point clip mechanism. Got one reserved for pick up!

Canada is a third world country to most of these companies. The good news is that I have 3 Sony stores within a 20 minute drive of me so I can go play with it, decide IF I want it and which color. Then I'll drive to Buffalo and buy it there where it'll be much, much cheaper!! LOL

That's a zippered cover. Not a case.

Still, I remember last year, when Sony released the 350 and 650, weren't we one of the first countries to get it? Maybe they're passing the privilege to someone else this year!
