This is what my example about. Why would receive Apple for any money even from in-app purchase if it provides absolutely no value added? Again, this my example about.

The examples hang on whether we agree that Apple provide no value. As I've just noted based on the revelations from Popular Science, I'm swinging back round to your point of view.

I am not sure if you realize how pathetic it is to copy propaganda material of a company (and a very greedy and unethical company at that). Pathetic - unless you get your salary from Apple, then it is just your job. Either way I think this kind of activity does not serve the interests of forum readers and I wonder if it violates any rules.
On top of that, trying to play the cancer card in spreading propaganda is just plain disgusting. I hope at least in front of the mirror you are not proud of it.

I can't get back into the article at the moment to read it again - 'cannot display page'. I guess we all have to sit back for a bit and wait for the dust to settle.

Doubtless Apple will cut variations on the deal with different publishers, and there will be sufficient complexity for everyone to support their case.

You're absolutely right that the market will decide. Still, it's been fun batting it around over the last few days.

Ahh, so you don't disagree with the details. I suspected not.

Of course I disagree but getting into the refuting company A's propaganda material in defense of company B would be on the one hand ridiculous on the other hand just as pathetic as putting up the propaganda material in the first place. Once there is an Apple agitprop agent here maybe a Google one will appear too to discuss company propaganda with you. I am just pointing it out that it is less than useful for the readers here and once again: playing the cancer card for propaganda reasons is extremely disgusting.

What customers? If you don't like Apple then use on of the dozens of Android platforms or Windows Phone stuff or any other platform... you have choice, why keep on moaning... Apple don't own the world and neither do they owe you a thing... just like any other business...

Thats not the meaning of open/closed, but yes, you can use apps from outside the iTunes store.

Thanks I didn't know that regarding outside apps for iOS. What then is the meaning of open and closed then?

I know some say that isn't proof, but this line keeps being overlooked:

[for subscriptions] "Apple processes all payments, keeping the same 30% share that it does today for other In-App Purchases," the company said.

It's very possible that I'm missing something, but since Apple hasn't said a word to dispute the flames over this applying to books, and since this coincides what I was told by a developer - that Apple's rules say they get 30% of any purchase from the ap, I'm not seeing where some get that books are excluded from the rule.

So does "other" mean "some unidentified products sold" or "all other products sold".

You can only install apps from outside the iTunes store if you jailbreak your iOS device. Not really open, to me.
