READ 100 BOOKS IN 2011 - Page 33

Well, I have FINALLY finished my first book in 2011.

I finished "Eclipse" by Stephenie Meyer. Now I will be onto the final installment, "Breaking Dawn". Eclipse was OK; I'm actually not a huge fan of the series but someone convinced me to start reading them and I did. I would say Eclipse was better than New Moon but not as good as Twilight. I would probably give all three books somewhere around 3 out of 5 stars.

However, that isn't the only book I've been working on the last three months. I'm also concurrently reading four other books.

I have been keeping track of what I have read since I purchased my kindle, I have read 47 books so far. Checking with amazon I see I purchased my kindle in late December, so sign me up !

I am aiming for 50 by years end and would do a jig if I could get even close to 100. I've read 16 so far.

I joined this challenge to see how many books I actually read in a year. I have never kept track before and 8+ books a month seemed very daunting when I started as most of my books are 300-700 pages each. I have been very diligent about marking that finish dates in Goodreads and am just amazed at how many books I've ready so far. Not all of them are super long but all the ones counted in my ticker fit the criteria of 150 pages or more. I can't wait to see what my final count is.

I'm a little ahead of where I was last year - currently just starting book 68, compared to half way through book 60 last year.

I joined the challenge late and couldn't remember what I read in Jan. but so far was at 43 when I edited my ticker on April 1. Most of what I have read so far this year is rereads and/or romance and I'm counting several short stories as two for one. I have a couple of tomes coming up on my TBR pile including GRR Martin - Game of Thrones (finally after how many years!) and Ken Follett.

Just made it to the half way mark with 50 books and 20,900 pages. I think I'm reading much more than I did last year.

I've read 15 out of 100 so far. Doesn't help that I read quite a few in January and February in paperback form but cannot remember the titles, and since I have moved the books are in storage 200 miles away. So I'm only counting e-books read since I got my e-reader.
