Z-chan, have you considered a white noise generator? I don't think it would help with the hammering, but it might help with the shums. At least some of the time.

no, i haven't, i'm not too sure what they do exactly. i usually just fight the noise with earplugs and / or my anti-noise dispositif (wireless dj headphones and music). it's not necessarily the most effective against the hammering, but it helps a bit.
