No Peace for the Wicked is the first in the Riley Gavin/Frank Palmer series by Adrian Magson. It is free right now at Kindle US and UK. I haven't read any titles in this series, which looks (according to SYKM) as if it was his first series. But have I read and enjoyed some titles in his Lucas Rocco series (I'm a pushover for mysteries set in France), and also a couple in his Harry Tate series.

This mega-omnibus of the first 18 titles in the Meg Langslow series, by Donna Andrews, has dropped to £40.53, which is about a pound less than it was back in 2017. If you need all of the books in the collection, this works out to a pretty good price. Per eReaderIQ, this was briefly in the £30-ish range in 2018, although I didn't spot it then, but if you are really patient, you could wait for better...

Maigret and the Old People is about 3/4 of the way through the Inspector Maigret series by Georges Simenon. Per the title page in the sample, this was originally published in French as Maigret et les vieillards, and per SYKM this was later published in English translation as Maigret in Society. (Maigret and the Old People is a much better translation...)

In any case, linguistics aside, Maigret and the Old People has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

Thanks - that was me, but #3 dragged for me and I went back to Montalbano - Just finished Safety Net and have a few pages left in Sicilian Method. I'll probably give Dublin another shot when I finish Maigret...

I think I only keep buying these because I'm a hoarder; I haven't even begun to actually reread them. I enjoyed them back in the day but even then I began to be annoyed by his notion that he could "fix" damaged women by allowing them to share his bed and do his domestic chores. Nonetheless, I have now managed to buy all except #19, Free Fall in Crimson, and no doubt I'll buy that one too if I ever see it on sale.

Aaah, yes, that feeling of the last piece fitting neatly into place, even electronically . Sadly, I missed a few way back before I found eReaderIQ, so I am stuck hoping they repeat the discounts on some titles eventually...which hasn't happened yet that I've seen. But I keep hoping.
