I'm assuming that by Libra 1 you mean the Libra H20. If so, then the move to 32GB was a factor in tempting me to get a Sage despite being VERY happy with my Libra H2O. Which is now my wife's Libra H2O

Again, while ymmv of course, the weight of the Sage would likely only be problematic if one holds it unsupported/unassisted for long periods. If you support it even partially either by resting it on yourself or by using the origami case, the wight becomes a non-issue, imo.

I was looking at both the Sage and Elipsa for a while until I found out they don't have micro-SD storage which meant I couldn't upgrade it easily/cheaply.
So I went with the Libra 2 and a 256GB micro-SD instead.

I came to the Sage from the Libra 1 and have had no issues with the weight. Yes, I change hands a bit more frequently, but it's still comfortable.

I hold my ereader in the air while reading, with one hand (because I often have other things in my lap, like a cat). I'm also very nearsighted, so supporting it on my lap or in a stand would mean a bent neck (=neck pain) all the time, even though I read with my glasses on. And I don't use a case while reading.

You don't have a cat, I see. Or ar least not a lap cat (out of my three, only one prefers the lap to the sofa).

How can you get a micro-sd to work with the Libra2? I thought Kobo got rid of all added storage (something I am not happy about BTW)

DEFINITELY ymmv - I read for hours with my ereader sitting up on my lap with no neck pain at all, but my neck and arms would both be howling in protest in minutes flat if I tried to read the way you describe.

Yep, and it depends on the eyes too - I imagine farsighted people feel pretty uncomfortable, having to hold their ereader up in the air.

Holding it up in the air is how I've always read paper books and magazines too (I've been nearsighted since elementary school). That's why I hated hardcovers.

I'm not farsighted, my glasses only come off when I'm asleep. When I first got progressives, my optician said the optimal focal area works best if the object being focused on is slightly below a straight line from the eyes, advice I've followed ever since. Despite it requiring me to put a cushion on my chair to achieve the target angle in front of my monitor

Yeah, that's how I use every device I own. My laptop is on an adjustable stand on the desk, my monitor (in the rare cases I use it) is on a low tumba, my ereader is in my hand, slightly lower than the eyeline. On my lap it would be significantly lower than my eyes.

I got my Sage two weeks ago, and I'm really happy with it.
The text is crisp and the contrast is fantastic and better than I experienced with Oasis 2.0.

I was a bit worried about the battery life, but then I realized that it's not an issue. I'm used to charging my cell phone daily anyway, so what is it compared with charging an ereader I really enjoy once a week? With USB-C cable, it's fully charged in no time.

Overall, the Sage is my favorite ereader and I plan to keep it.

I always put my Kobo to slepp. Never turn it off. Works perfectly.

The whole reason I've come to like e-ink readers is because of the size and weight of the Libra 1 (192g).

I suddenly found myself reading alot more.
Meanwhile a device even only as heavy as the Boox Note Air 2 (420g) is a bit too heavy for me to pick up casually and start reading...

But I need a new device because 6GB is just not enough space for me.

So Im tossing up between Libra2 and Sage.

The main reason I'm looking at Sage is that extra inch...it might make PDFs easier than Libra. I've mostly moved to epubs, but I still have PDFs and Libra is a complete fail on many of them. I'm hoping Sage will make just a few more PDFs more readable**.

But Im concerned about the weight, (size) (and notorious battery life)
and there are NO stores in Melbourne where I can even hold one!

(** For the really big textbooks, I have the Boox Air (e-ink) and even a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (colour, 463 g) that Im willing to use for them)
One e-reader to consider might be the Forma that weights 197 g (which is quite the same as the Libra First, but with the great 8" screen as of the new Sage).

But the Forma doesn't have the new Carta 1200 screen that the Sage and the Libra 2 have.

Personally I wouldn't buy a 3-year-old device unless it's significantly discounted. The 32-GB Forma hasn't been discounted yet (the OP said they want 32GB).
