Ducktown, Tennessee

Ducktown is a city in Polk County, Tennessee, United States. Literary historian Ben Harris McClary suggests that a Ducktown-area farmer named William "Sut" Miller (d. 1858) was the inspiration for the George Washington Harris character, Sut Lovingood. Ducktown and several Ducktown-area features, such as Big Frog Mountain and the Ocoee River ("Oconee"), are mentioned in the Sut Lovingood tales.

New Richmond, Wisconsin, USA

New Richmond was founded in 1857. In August 2007, the town celebrated its sesquicentennial. The town was named after Richmond Day, the land surveyor responsible for plotting the town. With it being the second town in Wisconsin to take the name Richmond, the name was altered to New Richmond.

On June 12, 1899, a deadly F5 tornado struck New Richmond. The tornado destroyed a large portion of the town, primarily Main Street and New Richmond's east side, killing 117 and injuring 125 people. To this day it stands as the ninth deadliest tornado in United States history, according to the National Storm Prediction Center. Most of Main Street (Knowles Avenue) was rebuilt within five months.

Darjeeling is a town and a municipality in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located in the Lesser Himalaya at an elevation of 6,700 ft (2,042.2 m). It is noted for its tea industry, the spectacular views of Kangchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain, and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In paleogeography, Gondwanaland is the name given to an ancient supercontinent. It is believed to have sutured between about 570 to 510 million years ago (Mya), joining East Gondwana to West Gondwana. Gondwana formed prior to Pangaea, but later became part of it.

Leeds, UK

Leeds Carnival is Western Europe's oldest West Indian Carnival, and the UK's third largest after the Notting Hill and Nottingham Carnival. It attracts around 100,000 people over 2 days to the streets of Chapeltown and Harehills. There is a large procession that finishes at Potternewton Park, where there are stalls, entertainment and refreshments. The Leeds Festival, featuring some of the biggest names in rock and indie music, takes place every year in Bramham Park.

Düsseldorf, Germany

The first written mention of Düsseldorf (then called Dusseldorp in the local Low Rhenish dialect) dates back to 1135. Under Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa the small town of Kaiserswerth to the north of Düsseldorf became a well-fortified outpost, where soldiers kept a watchful eye on every movement on the Rhine. Kaiserswerth eventually became a suburb of Düsseldorf in 1929.

Ensenada, Mexico

One of the first settlements founded in the Californias, Ensenada has emerged as a cruise ship destination, aerospace center, and there is a nearby region to the north east where wine grapes are grown. It is said that the first Vitis vinifera made it to the region's San Ignacio Mission in 1703, when Jesuit Padre Juan de Ugarte planted the first vineyards there.
