If you're not linked to Facebook then you don't have to worry about unlinking. When you get through an area and are blocked from going to the next area it will offer you a chance to advance for $.99 and one of the other choices is to do the quest levels. Once you complete those you can advance without paying.

Ashes & Alchemy (Cindy Spencer Pape): 4 stars. It's a novella but quite sweet and nice

Did you happen to read rest of Pape's books? How are they? They are on my wishlist ever since I stumbled onto them, but somehow I never got around to them.

I've read all the "Gaslight Chronicles" series but "Moonlight & Mechanicals" and it's 3 -4 stars, and "Urban Arcana" series, which is 4 stars. But my likings are a bit "special". If you look for me in goodreads, you can see the books (perhaps there's some one which it isn't updatet but not a lot).

Late to the discussion, not much computer time this weekend. I love Suzanne's Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. Reread Night Watch this weekend as a matter of fact. And the hero here was obnoxious in most of the other books, but his character changes were believable.

Lost interest in Troubleshooters similar to library addict in about the middle of troubleshooters, for much the same reasons, mainly since she had recurring characters that changed too much. And too many story lines to follow when books are a year or two apart in being published. Obviously I didn't delete the backlist, just stopped buying.

Still like some of the earlier in Troubleshooters - Out of Control is one I liked, Over the Edge I didn't (too scary).

It was interesting to read library addict's rant. I hadn't analysed why I stopped buying, when she had been an autobuy for years.

Got my stellement checks today. I had more books down as NYT best sellers at the higher rate than they did apparently. And my Sony check was not only a lot less because of that but they shorted me 2 books. Still, it's nice to have. And I suppose I should not complain as when I bought the books I never thought I'd get any money back.

I started Unwound. Hubby came down with a really bad case of food poisoning. This is not good. He is on last chance at work already from being sick with various bugs. This is the first time he's had food poisoning of this magnitude. I am keeping Gatorade down him finally. I've had three hours of restless sleep. I'm very familiar with this type of food poisoning so I'm keeping watch.

Reading Over The Edge got me through most of the night. This one seems much better than the previous two.

I have the three months for 95 cents a month audible plan expiring Apr 3. I have 2 credits I haven't spent. Do I have to spend before I cancel?

Kobo hasn't sent out any settlement emails yet but I'm now seeing a credit on my account, $14.60 exactly as calculated.

My grand total from all stores is $68.62 from ~$200 originally spent on 94 books. Not bad at all!

Assuming Apple loses it's appeals they can be assessed about 4x more than the original pool of $166 million. Maybe this time next year we'll be seeing even bigger credits.

I got $2.92 from Kobo for four books. I will save it for the next big coupon.

I'm not going to buy book 2 right away. It should go onto the Kobo site at some point, and then I'll use a coupon on it.

Thanks for the heads up. I am use to cliffhangers these days what I do not like is for a story to just end like an episode and then I have to buy the next one. The Plus One Chronicles is this way which I paid $2,99 for but I got the box set the other day for 99 cents so I paid $4 for the whole book instead of $9

I personally hate episode books. I will never buy them will not even click on them if free. IMO just a cheap shot at trying to scam money out of people.
