Jascha Heifetz plays Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35: I. Allegro moderato.

The clip is from the film "Carnegie Hall" made in 1947. I have not seen the film itself yet. It is suppose to contain many great classical pieces as well as other magnificent artists.

As Violin Concertos go ... it is the real show case of the great classical musicians. In absolute I prefer the one of Mendelssohn, but just because was one of the first LP that I bought. The theme is rather catching. And I challenge you with David Oistrach the great adversary of Jascha Heifetz. His cadence is admirable. There is also a very nice execution of Isaac Stern on You Tube.
