I did'nt mean it like that at all, Kaz. It was more like "what bum luck"... Carole and I were just leaving from Cat's place for a first visit after her setting in.

Agreed. It's so annoying when people do that! What's preventing me from panicking is that this library is municipal, so I passed through Montréal's city administration. Everything they do, they do it slowly, so they might not have hired someone yet.

I just had the weirdest déjà vu about those two last posts...

Hey I can't blame her for not turning on her cell, I always forget mine. I hate those things.

Something else happened to Cat, her computer just zonked on her about an hour ago. That's not too good for a mod...

Maybe one of the techno gurus here will be able to help her. I usually yell for my son or my husband when there's a hardware issue. I wish I could lend her one of our computers. I'm embarrassed to say that we have 8/9 floating around here.

I think it just overheated, it's been over 30C for two days straight inside my apartment, and I was playing a game () that probably asked a lot from my poor basic graphic card. But I still got scared though.

I'm just glad that you're ABLE to rant and that your computer is operational!! We had a thunderstorm a couple of days ago and when I got up the next morning, I was able to connect to our local area network but not the Internet. I tried to logon to our main computer (the one all the modems, routers, etc. are connected to) and couldn't remember my husbands password. I was frantically running around trying to get connected (and having serious MR withdrawels) when my son calmly unplugged the cable modem, waited 10 seconds, and plugged it back in. Problem solved! He said to me, "Do you REALLY have a BS in computer science?!?"
