I just got the $5 credit for using the Underground app.

But on to more pressing matters ... Gators? Never guessed that (even though my HS teams were the Gators). I just see the Gr8 as "great" and ignore the rest of it.

It wasn't exactly straightforward--I had to go searching through Amazon's help files to find out how to get the Underground app on my phone.
A LOT of the Amazon app store promos are like that. Nothing at all listed on the app page even from a regular browser about the promo. Buy it and pray you get the promo basically.

And then sometimes they screw up the promo credit.

Or expire it a early.

All things I've had happen personally from app store promos. And I had a hell of a time getting Amazon Underground on an Android Virtual Machine I setup a while back. I'd installed it on multiple devices before that! I ended up having to backup the APK from an existing device then copy that over to the VM, install it, and let it update. So yeah, straightforward it ain't.

New FREE Music from NoiseTrade.

Prior to October of last year, there wasn't a thread that we could legally post music on. Now we have one--this one. I, for one, am glad.

I don't remember NoiseTrade freebies ever being posted. I don't know if I will keep this up, but I am committing to post the free music offered periodically by NoiseTrade, for at least a short while.

Don't get your hopes up that we're talking here about music from musical stars. These are all going to be pieces from up-and-comers--new artists to one degree or another. But some of you probably like to explore new music and would be glad to know about these.

If I quit posting these after a while, at least you will become familiar with NoiseTrade's freebies and, if you're interested enough, find them for yourselves. And you can get on a mailing list of NoiseTrade's where you can be informed of new free offerings by them, if you would like to be.

I think that you have to have an account with NoiseTrade in order to download stuff from them. The music is free, but NoiseTrade will ask you to leave a tip on a voluntary basis.

Artist: Ben Abraham.
Similar Artists: Bear's Den, Daughter, Half Moon Run, Lucy Rose.
Genre: Singer/Songwriter: Pop.
An Introduction to the Artist:
What do you do when you want to get the attention of GRAMMY nominated songstress, Sara Bareilles? If you’re taking a page from Ben Abraham’s playbook, you’d post a video entitled, “To Sara, From Ben” on YouTube one day and find yourself in a co-writing session with her (“This Is On Me”) on another. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Abraham first found his voice writing songs whilst working in a hospital. Since then he’s toured with Emmylou Harris and released his debut record, Sirens, a musical documentary of the loss, longing, and growth that carried him from hospital halls to performance halls. Get to know Ben Abraham with this 5 track NoiseTrade compilation, which includes selections from Sirens plus three exclusive live and from-the-vault demo recordings.

Artist: Robert Jaeger.
Similar Artists: Coldplay, John Mayer, One Republic, Sting, Ben Rector.
Genre: Pop: Rock.
An Introduction to the Artist:
Recorded in Nashville's historic RCA Studio A, Roger Jaeger’s Start Over is a collection of pop/rock songs dealing with surrender and new beginnings. They are emotionally-charged, musically explorative songs nuanced by sitar, helmed by warm and inviting vocals. Jaeger's combination of songwriting and sitar takes us to places we haven't anticipated and leaves us wanting more.

Artist: Zolo.
Similar Artists: N/A.
Genre: Pop: Hip Hop.
An Introduction to the Artist:
Bringing in his own eclectic approach to music, Toronto-based Zolo blends EDM, hip hop, and pop. Zolo seeks to spread positivity, ambition, and fun, using his music as a channel through which he promotes positive energy to those around him. Named by the Canadian Urban Music Conference as “One To Watch” in 2013, Zolo will be releasing a new EP, Mindless Thoughts this summer. His latest single "Brand New" brings together a feel-good vibe, with occasional hip hop elements on a brass instrument backdrop for a perfect dancefloor hit.

Artists: Various (Mixtape).
Similar Artists: N/A.
Genre: Alternative: Pop.
Mixtape Description:

Steve Roach's 2013 album Future Flows is available as a free download this week only at Bandcamp. It's mostly Ambient with a little Electronic/Space edge.
