Just for clarity, there is a lot of new not-bundled-yet material in this Dynamite Recent Hits sale. 8 collections are at more than 50% off and 142 singles are at $.99; sale ends 6/26/15. Like a dummy, I bought some of it; so that guarantees it'll be soon bundled for pennies an issue for the rest of you. In my defense, I only bought "digital exclusive editions", which may or may not have material that is on Comixology only.

From Hexagon, unknown duration, the five volumes of Phenix are on sale for $1.99 each instead of the usual $4.98. It's originally a French comic started in 1978, these are English translations. Anyone ever read this?
https://www.comixology.com/PHENIX/comics-series/25195

Another Garth Ennis bundle-only sale from Avatar, unknown duration, 12 issues of Chronicles of Wormwood for $14.99. Given the company and creator, this is obviously adults only. Anyone ever read this?

The weekly podcast freebies seem to always be things I've already bought because they're great books. This week's is HENCHPOD for a free copy of Henchmen #1 and the one-shot, so two fun books for free. Enter the code at the below link. https://www.comixology.com/redeem

A new freebie at Comixology, Death in Oaxaca #1.

The return of Jesus - some of my favorite work by him, equivalent to Preacher in story and tone.

I entered the search term fcbd in the search box at Comixology.com today and picked up two new titles. YMMV.

I guess it's still LGBTQ month, because here's another Strangers in Paradise sale; ends 6/29/15 and has 19 collections and 110 singles.
https://www.comixology.com/Strangers...Sale/page/7184

Archaia/Boom has a sci-if sale until 6/29/15, 7 collections and 32 singles. I think they had one of these last year, although everything isn't marked as owned in my account, so maybe not.

Yesterday I saw the Uncanny X-Men sale and was very tempted, but decided to skip it for now because I recently purchased the New X-Men run written by Grant Morrison and can't really afford it at the moment. I was going to ask how often do particular collections go on sale at Comixology, but I have the impression that Comixology is not getting any more of my money.

The Comixology app for Windows 8 is almost unusable. If it gets stuck on a download or it doesn't finish it for any reason, the app become almost unresponsive. I can't download anything, I can't read any of my comics, and the only solution I've found after several hours is uninstalling it again... and hoping it will work for a little bit longer next time.

What a disappointment. I really enjoyed using it during the short time it worked.

I guess it runs flawlessly on iOS and Android, right?

Yeah, it's great on iOS and Kindle Fire at least. Have you tried contacting comixology support, or searching other forums?

No, I still haven't contacted support. From what I've read on the web, it seems their Windows 8 app has been pretty much abandoned. One user posted a fix, but it didn't work for me. Another users with this problem say that Comixology support just suggested reading their comics on the web. They haven't even bothered updating the icon of the app.

It's a shame. They at least should let their customers know this app is only a beta with limited functionality. Oh well.

I have to say that last night I spent some time reading with the Comixology app on my wife's Kindle Fire and the experience was much better. I didn't expect that reading a comic on such a small screen (7 inches) would be enjoyable, but it actually was. It's a first generation device and it doesn't even open the Marvel comics purchased on Amazon, so it seems that Amazon is not very interested in supporting it either. But at least I know I will be able to read the comics I purchased from Comixology.

Anyway, back to my previous question: how often does a particular comic go on sale? Is it hard to say? I know that missing a sale on a PC digital game is not a big deal, as it will be on sale again in the new few months. Is it the same with comics or not?

And another newbie question: Comixology doesn't have big seasonal sales, à la Steam or GOG Summer Sales, right?

I'm glad you have a partial solution at least.

On sales, they are frequent but never completely store wide. You could go back thru this thread and see the history of sales since I started posting here at least, as I post every sale.

They once had a mainline Marvel title sale, where everything was half off for a week or two. That killed my wallet.

The sales do tend to repeat, but in the few years that I've been a Comixology 'power buyer' there have been some sales that have not repeated, and some titles that have never gone on sale.

Pretty sure it's a publisher decision, and Comixology can't just put. Things on sale wily nilly.

Hey, thanks (once again). You are right, this thread is an excellent resource and I will use the search option when interested in a particular sale.

By the way, is Professor X still dead?

Several newish foreign language sales at Comixology.
https://www.comixology.com/comics-sale

New freebie.
https://www.comixology.com/Boys-Over...l-comic/251217

Marvel Monday is the second sale on Uncanny Avengers.
issues 1-25, 8AU, and Annual 1 of the 2012+ series
https://www.comixology.com/Uncanny-A...Sale/page/7194

Several other sales end today, including Ghostbusters, Strangers in Paradise, and Archaia/Boom Science Fiction.

But why buy anything if Unlimited is coming? That is the big question now.

I am so glad you mentioned this! With all the awesome sales going on right now (The Sandman, Ex Machina, Watchmen...), I might have done something stupid, considering the poor state of my wallet.

Do you know anything else about Unlimited? I haven't found any reliable info online. And I wonder if it can be that great. I mean, Marvel is one of Comixology's main partners, and they offer Marvel Unlimited for $9.99 a month. Comixology UL has to be either more expensive or exclude Marvel comics to not pose a threat to Marvel UL, don't you think?

I am trying not to get my hopes too high. By the way, regarding Marvel Unlimited, I would love to reread the comics of my childhood and show some new titles to my 6 year old, who is now discovering superheroes. I would buy a 1 year membership to Marvel Unlimited, but my tablet is a Surface and Marvel doesn't offer a Windows 8 app.

It seems I didn't choose the best tablet to read comics. But it's probably the best one to save money.
