I've had the Screen freeze problem too. I was reading a larger book ( The Three musketeers books from the MobileRead library that I merged together (4 books).)

I like the compromise that it updates the clock when the page turns... that's a feature I would like. Also, in a previous post I was asking for total page numbers, not pages left in the chapter, to display progress in the book. I'd be happy with just a total progress bar overlapping the pages per chapter, the way the nook reader for BlackBerry does it. |

I wouldn't like the clock being on the actual page, as I prefer the screen to mimic the look of a real book as much as possible (one reason I hated the double spacing and non-justified text of the old Kobos), and there's no clock on a paper book. But when opening the menu (ie. pressing the middle of the page), a clock could come in real handy.

The capability to sort all unread (including partially read) books to the top of the library list would be a great deal more use to me than 'Recent Reads'.

![]() At least having the menu left open by default once a word is selected would reduce a tap to open the menu. I would love to have a separate button to have more direct dictionary access. |

Contrast
What I'd love to see is contrast settings in PDF. The Kindle (despite its shitty PDF reader) had this. And increasing the contrast made documents so much more readable. Now I take a LaTeX (article style, default font) PDF and it is unreadable. But with some extra contrast, it would look perfect. PDF readability would increase tremendously.

(copied from the 1.9.12 thread - I thought this is a better place)
Since 99% of the time I move forward in a book I would like to simplify that process for someone like me that holds it with either hand and actually switches frequently. I think the new feature for customized tap regions is an improvement but it didn't go far enough. I would like to see horizontal region options along with the vertical regions they have. Myself, I would like the top 1/3 for going backwards, the bottom 2/3 for going forward, the menu stuck in the bottom middle of the 2/3 section like it currently is for the two new vertical options. Another idea that would work for me is the complete area for moving a page forward, again minus the menu area. Then if I want to go backwards, I could swipe instead. |

I have 2 suggestions for the next firmware update
1) at the bottom of the screen it displays the page we are currently reading and the total number of pages in the book. Since one page on the screen is not equivalent to one page in the book why not add the % of the book red. Just like when you turn the power off you can see that %. 2) when we are looking at the books available on the device. how about an option to see more meta datas for the book. In calibre you have a tag for the series and the number of the book in the serie. How how about the little summary that is displayed in calibre. That would be nice to have. Maybe I don'T know how to display it but it would be nice specially with a huge book collection. let me know what you think oh and the time would also be a nice addtion(someone mentionned this one) Last edited by psy65; 10-25-2011 at 09:02 PM. 1- The ability to download and save images as book covers from the web browser. (It looks bad having most PDFs and Epubs with blank covers, or random text.)
2- Ability to execute javascript in offline HTML files. (for basic app support (I would be incredibly interested in writing a few Kobo programs with this framework)) 3- Account backup files (I've had to force-off my Kobo a few times due to large epubs crashing the system, and when I reboot, My user data is gone, save a few stats) |
