Can you do the flax into gold thing?

We just came back from a ride in the mountains north of Kyoto, to an area famous for it's beautiful Autumn red maples. Somehow we stumbled onto a tea garden well off the beaten path. The ambiance was fantastic. The tea was not.

Home now... waiting for the Fortnum & Mason's Royal Blend to steep.

Great photo. Wish I was there. Have a huge Japanse ceder in my garden, though.
Drinking: hot cup of Arabica-coffee with a twist of mocca.
Betty; are you knitting something warm for the winter?

A new one right now. Tokay Apricot
Certainly better than yesterday's Grenadine. They have something in common, but Tokay Apricot is missing Grenadine's sweetness. I am not sure whether I would order it again, but I like it. I think the next test will be Sencha. This is the common ingredient in both teas.
not really, not if you enjoy the heavy single malts!

Doesn't sound so good...

Perhaps if you added some grenadine syrup, gin, sweet and sour mix, and a touch of cherry brandy you could convince yourself it was a Singapore Sling and you were actually enjoying it all!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;
Huge mugs of hot tea and a good song to sing;
These are a few of my favorite things.

This morning is as cold and rainy as yesterday was sunny! Perfect time for a strong tea. If the weather stays this way all day I'll be able to drink Lapsang Souchong this afternoon, but I can't handle it first thing in the morning. Right now, a double load of Yorkshire tea in the mug will have to suffice.

This is like 'forcing' oneself to eat Godiva Chocolates....

Rooibos.

I'm kind of knitting something warm for winter, just not for me. I'm taking part in a "square" exchange with some of my guild friends, so I have to spin and then knit 14 8" squares, in a pattern of my choice. We'll then exchange them,like a quilt block exchange, so I'll have one square each from all of the other people. I'll put them together in a small blanket or something.

I used to knit little woolen squares- crotcheted into little blankets for my daughters puppets. Now our cat is happily snoring away on a pile of them.

Nothing in my cup- 1 o'clock in the night- going to sleep.

Still raining and the temperature merits a hot cup of Lapasang Souchong tea along side a good book in front of the fireplace. Dog at my feet, pipe burning, and Bach on the stereo. Except I don't have a fireplace, a dog nor smoke a pipe, and it's Joni Mitchell singing sweetly!

Agree.
Although, I am surprised I enjoy the heavy single malt.
Something is going on, I only don't know what. I was used to like liquors and a bit later cocktails. Sweet stuff. Like tea - tea bags with sugar.
Nowdays, it is tea without sugar, smoky tea and Scotch?

Coffee's still cold; same cup.

We're not suppose to have snow in november, but in january/february.
The postman just came in (11.00) with my replacement Kindle: 3 days from US-Netherlands. Seeing is believing.
