Tried the Wedgwood English Breakfast. This tea is so small it almost appears ground -- I didn't like that. It brewed up too strong for me the first cup, so I dumped it and resteeped and tried a second cup. Still not my favorite. I guess I'll try it again another time.
I had a cup of the Nourishtea Chai blend with my lunch. It was very good -- not nearly as heavy on the cinnamon as the Celestial Seasonings. ![]() |

I had training this morning so no access to a computer.
Two pots of Rooibos Capetown, cup 4 right now. One 20 ounce bottle of Cherry Coke. The flowering teas are great. We used them in our wedding centerpieces. We steeped them , and then resteeped them three or four more times to remove any tea color, and then used the pretty flowering parts in the centerpiece. It was awesome. |

Cold Arabica-coffee, with some mocca thrown in.
Just reading the descriptions of all of your tea-drinking has a kind of Zen-effect on me; especially the long lists of different teas. ![]() Last edited by desertblues; 11-19-2010 at 04:00 AM. Reason: grammar again |

I finally tried my new lapsang souchong.
It is ok. I am not sure that I like it, this one at least. I remember a funny tasting Chinese tea (a black tea for sure) that I had at least 25 years ago at the house of on old couple that had lived years in China. That one had a very light but fascinating ashy taste, we had in the afternoon, with little sandwiches. I thought that it might have been lapsang souchong from the descriptions I read on this thread. But no it is not. The lapsang souchong that I just bought is really peaty. I imagine that someone that loves malts and Irish stouts (like the mighty green dancer) might be interested in this brew. I do not think that I like it, at least in comparison with the other blacks that I am drinking. Let me see. The after taste is much better than the first impact, which is acrid (that is it might have been generated by burning tires, or by someone burning tires near by: why not, btw? The huge cloud above the eastern part of Asia is not a propaganda item). It leaves a very good mouth, that's for sure. I will try it again, maybe correcting it with milk and/or sugar like I did with the Assam. Although I do not like doing that so much. More from a prejudice that from a solid opinion. But with coffee I learned to take it black and so I appreciated the fine subtleties. I imagine the same for tea. With drinks it is not always so. Am, she is right with adding a little water to a malt. I would never do that with cognac for instance. ![]() I will keep looking for my old ashy souvenir. |

Beppe, was it a cold and rainy afternoon when you drank it? It's under those conditions that it tastes best. On nice sunny days I can't stand the stuff! But when it's drizzling outside, and the temperature is headed towards freezing, but not quite there yet, that Lapsang Souchong really hits the spot! ![]() It's like drinking Châteauneuf-du-Pape; there are times when it's the perfect wine, and times when one really shouldn't drink it. ![]() Stitchawl |

No, it is a nice morning here, a break between 2 waves of bad weather. Also I generally have a bright sunshine inside, being a 63% extrovert
![]()
It's like drinking Châteauneuf-du-Pape; there are times when it's the perfect wine, and times when one really shouldn't drink it. ![]() Stitchawl
Châteauneuf-du-Pape was one of my favorite, long time ago. Smooth and hearty. Now that I have more means (really, it is just that I care less) and a little bit more knowledge, I rather drink Crozes Hermitage from the same region. More expensive but ... I will keep in mind your advice about bad weather. |
