A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (based on an unfinished novel by Siobhan Dowd) is $0.99 on Amazon.com

Quote:
At seven minutes past midnight, thirteen-year-old Conor wakes to find a monster outside his bedroom window. But it isn’t the monster Conor’s been expecting-- he’s been expecting the one from his nightmare, the nightmare he’s had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments. The monster in his backyard is different. It’s ancient. And wild. And it wants something from Conor. Something terrible and dangerous. It wants the truth. From the final idea of award-winning author Siobhan Dowd-- whose premature death from cancer prevented her from writing it herself-- Patrick Ness has spun a haunting and darkly funny novel of mischief, loss, and monsters both real and imagined.

You beat me to it

I went top tier; even discounting the rubbish and duplicates of books I already had from previous bundles, there was enough new to me (or that completed series) to be worth it.

I have to find my docs on that Open Road giveaway a couple of years ago to see how much overlap if any...

Lots of William Shatner (and ghost writer’s) Tek War in that bundle. I love the Shat, but are those books worth reading?

That's one of those mysteries that remain unexplained...

The first one was. However I think they changed ghostwriters after the first one, and they quickly went from drek (the second one) to worse than drek (what I could read of the third and fourth).

The Warehouse by Rob Hart is $1.99 on Amazon.com

Quote:
Paxton never thought he’d be working for Cloud, the giant tech company that’s eaten much of the American economy. Much less that he’d be moving into one of the company’s sprawling live-work facilities.

But compared to what’s left outside, Cloud’s bland chainstore life of gleaming entertainment halls, open-plan offices, and vast warehouses…well, it doesn’t seem so bad. It’s more than anyone else is offering.

Zinnia never thought she’d be infiltrating Cloud. But now she’s undercover, inside the walls, risking it all to ferret out the company’s darkest secrets. And Paxton, with his ordinary little hopes and fears? He just might make the perfect pawn. If she can bear to sacrifice him.

As the truth about Cloud unfolds, Zinnia must gamble everything on a desperate scheme—one that risks both their lives, even as it forces Paxton to question everything about the world he’s so carefully assembled here.

Together, they’ll learn just how far the company will go…to make the world a better place.

Set in the confines of a corporate panopticon that’s at once brilliantly imagined and terrifyingly real, The Warehouse is a near-future thriller about what happens when Big Brother meets Big Business--and who will pay the ultimate price.

That's my recollection as well from reading the first few when they were first published.

Extra irony, since it's an eBook it's not stored in a warehouse, but on a server somewhere.

Just ignore the poo-pooing for the Tek Wor books. I've read all of them and there are worth a read. I even watched the short lived TV series.
