Well, we had some strong rains and floodings here... than it shot up over 30 °C... lasted till Saturday, which was the day I spent laying on my bed in front of a fan and getting up just to get more icecream Then two storm fronts clashed over the country, released lightnings, hailstone and all gods' wrath and we're back to some 18 °C. This summer is somewhat emotinally unstable!

For us (Florence and your humble servant) it goes with the nodes of the Earth trajectory. Solstices and equinoxes. Roughly the 21st of December, March, June and September.

Summer starts here around June 21, with the onset of the summer solstice. It depends on who you ask. Meteorologists say the entire months of June, July, and August for the Northern hemisphere, but in the United States, we consider it as running from the summer solstice to the fall equinox.
