The 'Book' wasn't written by God. That was the limit of folks knowledge back then. By the way thats why Islam is immediately invalidated. In 'Islam' they claim that the Koran is the word of God. The concept definitely is, the word might not be. Look up Lokayatas, they were basically humanists but were around long before Christianity.
