WindowsCE sounds nice, but will it be faster? I find it sluggish already, and don't want it to be worse. The device works great once you are in the application you want, but sluggish geting there or switching applications...

What does ENABLE USB OTG mean? If you push the suspend button on the top to power on or off, one of the new menu choices in the screen says this. Any one got an idea what this means? i am drawing a blank on ATLA. (another three letter accronym).

All that aside, I originally bought the Q7 as an ebook reader. So I don't think I need that much speed. I am thinking that once I have WinCE I will be able to have more reading software like ubook, mobipocket, ereader, and msreader. At least I hope so. I am not sure what is available for WinCE 6.0. Certainly there should be more compatibility for bluetooth devices. Other than that I am happy with my Q7. I like FBreader, I am just greedy ![]() Ellen |

I believe OTG means On the Go. For the Q7 it is the setting for using bluetooth and I believe usb devices like keyboards. Ellen |

The Q7 have tow USB, one is standard the other is mini. "Enable USB OTG" means the mini USB has two mode. One the Q7 is like a PC, it can connect with mouse,keyboard,u-disk and so on, the same as the standard one. The other the Q7 is a card reader when it connect to a PC.

I have download the WINCE chinese version for a trial. But now it is only a system without any application. It is much faster then the ubuntu. The official will release the chinese version at the end of this month, the english version will be later and not confirm when would be.

I have also been using the slideshow. This works really well. At work it is a picture frame while charging and I can copy content to it for reading later.
At home I use it as an ebook reader. One issue is that the slideshow durration is just a tad short. The longest delay is 30 seconds. I think for a slide show like a digital picture frame it should be longer, more like 1-4 minutes. The more often it changes the more distracting it can be if you see it switch all the time. I like it to be a passive device that I can look at and see it be different, not look at it because it keep changing and I see it change out of the corner of my eye... |
