It's definitely not just you. It's common enough that I started a Goodreads group for it: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/128102

It was either that, or work gaming into my reading challenge and that just didn't seem the right compromise.

Well, I've managed to already complete my six-month goal in less than three months! My goal was 4000 pages by the end of June, and I'm now at 4144 before the end of March. I've certainly been reading more this year than I expected so far and I wasn't in the least expecting to hit my goal so fast when I made it at the beginning of the year.

But hey, now I have three months to not worry about page count goals until July!

I'm well on track with all the reading goals.

The Kobo 90% coupon earlier this month messed up the ebook buying goal by quite a bit, but when counting each omnibus as one book (usually I've entered the constituent books separately in my spreadsheet) and counting those where my Kobo credit (refund for a book I bought in 2012 and that turned out to have a third of the content missing) completely covered the post-coupon price as free books, I'm up to 48 books bought this year - this is a bit much, but as my overall goal is a maximum of 120 books, and right now I only know of about eight books to be released later this year which are in the "must get and will get as ebooks" category, I should still be able to meet that goal.

I've read 35, so I'm currently well behind in the "read more than buy" goal (especially if I split up the omnibus releases), but as long as I keep the buying under control for the rest of the year, I'm not going to worry too much if my overall TBR pile increases by a handful of books.

I've just finished my 60th book for the year. But I've also bought 142! The 90% off code was the cause of some of those, but some other very good offers in January and March played their part.

Even counting the books I plan to buy in the rest of the year, I am still (just) under my yearly budget of $480, but I'll need to be very careful about any extra books I add to my list. I only have $62.25 for unplanned purchased for the remaining nine months.

Oho, I have been tricky! I've been using the high-discount codes this month to buy digital versions of books I've already read, so I can unload the Ent corpses. Thus, they're not adding to my TBR stack!

March was a definite slow down for me. I read only 2 books. The Princes Bride by William Goldman and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, which amounted to 685 pages.
The Princes Bride was very fun to read, I liked it a lot and Night Circus had great atmosphere but overall book was just ok. I didnt enjoy it that much.

Still, I'm 3 books ahead of my GR 30 books a year challenge, but my page count was down this month.

Next report in april.

I'm doing quite good too. So far I've read 12 books out of 30, which means that I'm 40% through the challenge and 4 or 5 books ahead.
I should slow down when I'll tackle some longish books, but in the end I should have aimed for 36 books.
Now I need to update the read books on the other thread and also rate and review them on Goodreads. One day...

I'm doing fairly well on my challenges, but just beginning to fall behind on my TBR goal. Now the weather has improved, I find myself visiting charity shops and second-hand book shops a bit more often, and rarely come away unscathed.

I've managed to catch up. Finished the last available Kate Daniels and started my Harry Potter re-read, finally. Finished Chamber of Secrets last night.

I upped my book goal to 120 books for the year at the beginning of the month and will only finish 9 this month. I might make 10 tomorrow if I have no interruptions, but then, that is the problem, isn't it? I'm several books ahead, so all is well. Trying to pick up a bit on the novellas/short stories. My financial goal will catch up, oh, about August since I need to add in the Kickstarter special.

I've been focused on audiobooks since my vision problem started last month, but hopefully, will be back to reading in another month or so. I had some recommendations on TTS programs and am learning to use Moon Reader Pro and Voice Dream to help with books that I can't get in audiobook and especially the science fiction/fantasy/horror magazines.

I thought I'd fall behind in March due to work, but due to insomnia I'm way ahead of my goal. One quarter into the year and I've completed one third of my reading goal.

Just finished New Zealand and now partway into Australia. According to my spreadsheet I should just be starting Angola and I'm about six books ahead of schedule. Which is a ludicrously small number considering how fast I've been making it through these books. A bad month and I'd be just barely on track.

Most important statistic: I need to read 43.87 pages a day for the rest of the year to finish. It's important because that number started at 50.02 pages per day. So I've really made a decent dent in pages required.
