Most likely I would not go for 2 pages ebook reader but I do appreciate a form factor of ebook reader I own. It must remind me of a real book, instead of yelling at my face I AM a GADGET! That's why Kindle was never an option for me with its h/w keyboard or Nook with a secondary LCD screen.
I agree. That's why I love the Kobo...it's minimalist.

No interest at all in a two-screen reader. That's like making a vehicle that walks because it's more like riding a horse.

I'd daresay this will have to be introduced to universities and other research leading institutions. However, unlike normal literature, of which we have millions of books in the public domain and thus a demand, even if small, for readers which can read these PD books, most scientific research and of course the most recent and valuable one is inaccesible to the common man, ad maiorem Copyrighti gratia. Thus, they'll have to figure the business model and until they do that we're positively screwed.

years ago there was a design I liked for a two page ereader. it came out of a kind of eink design contest . it was two pages one on top of the other connected by a hinge. you flipped the top page around behind to turn pages. Adding a swivel to this allowed you to see two pages side by side or close it up as a clamshell/ book.

ill see if i can find the pictures. this was like 5 years ago or more.

haha that took both more and less time than i figured it would. my first few attempts turned up nothing, and i was starting to settle in for a long slog through search results. then i had an epiphany moment, changed the way i was searching and boom

It wasn't an EInk contest it was a Plastic Logic design contest.

http://www.dexigner.com/design_news/6619.html

The one I was thinking about was this one

It didnt have the swivel of my memory that would allow the top display to turn around and face the other way. must have been my addition.

Interesting the med band. I designed the same thing a few years ago and included an RFID chip with a system to track patients around the hospital. I wonder if I was inspired by this one since I must have seen it before drawing up my own design.

My experience (with an Iriver Story) is that you need two hands to hold it since it's so heavy. Or rather, that one has to change hands far more often with it than one does with, say, a paperback. I assume the Story is not significantly lighter or heavier than other ereaders. There's no really comfortable way to hold an ereader.
