Mine is a bit squeaky too when pressed, but I'm not too bothered. I've had it over 3 months now and it's fine. It hasn't got more squeaky/loose. I have it in the case most of the time anyway.

Weird..I noticed mine is creaking/squeaking too. Especially after reading this thread. The noise comes from the middle right back as well. That's basically around the area where the battery mounts to the MB. I assume the squeaking comes from the gap between the battery and the back case. I do feel a little bit of give if I squish it there a little compared to the other side. I suppose, since the battery is so big, just over a 1/4 the size of the kindle, it was difficult to put clips or supports on that portion of the case.
See video with good disection of the K3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD-wPmowR-Y I'm just going to put up with mine. |

My K3 is 2 weeks old and it has the same problem. But, I think it's quite normal since the two parts were not glued together, right? It's my first Kindle, since it's so cheap, I am more tolerance with this small issue.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that has this issue. I got my K3 as soon as it came out now after a few months of use and having a case it creaks! I would say the past month I really noticed it and it is quite annoying. I read my K3 sometimes 'naked' without the case on, and that is when I can't stand it but I like the feel of it without the case while reading. I use the case to protect it when in transit.
I'm one of those people that if I perceive something is wrong with a gadget I need a new ones so it's just like a new. I wonder if since I got it back in the summer if I could even send it back now? I really don't see why this is happening to people, it's not like there's any screws that are visible to tighten... |

I returned my first K3 to Target because of a raised bezel / faulty glue issue.
I ordered the 2nd K3 from Amazon and a couple days ago noticed a speck of dust caught underneath the right bezel and it's raised slightly, though not to the extent of the other. I half-heartedly dug at it a little bit with the corner of a Post-it, but stopped for fear it'd make it worse. If it starts bugging me too badly or gets ANY worse, I'll have no qualms about calling for a replacement. After typing this, I may do it within the next week. One little speck of dust can be pretty taunting. |

Wow, so I'm not alone with this creakiness issue. The Kindles I've been getting at Target have actually been a little weird. Unusually clacky buttons like the K2 in one model, buttons that were mushy and/or recessed in the second, and the third one... Well, for a moment I thought it was fine and was very happy, but unlike the others the back actually creaks when I click either of the right buttons with the leather cover on. The only way to avoid the creaking is to take it out. The back cover looseness could not be in a worse spot.

Mine has always flexed a little but this was made worse when the Kindle got dropped on a stone floor and the only way to get the corner of the cover back on was to take it off. I think doing that misaligned the clip in the middle so now it flexes more. In any case, with a case there is no issue.
