Nope, just measured my 650 against my wife's 300. The 650 is slightly too large to fit the 300's case.

Sony versus Kobo

Sorry for delay in getting back to thread. My camera went on strike and refused to upload to my Windows 7 box. I had to go find an xp box to get pix off.
Re the pix it is very hard to capture the screens I tried inside with flash and outside with sunshine but you can see for yourself its not the best of pictures.
I have used the Sony for a couple of weeks now and quite like it. I agree it is faster that Kobo but that is just price I guess. The Sony was NZ$ 400 the Kobo is NZ$240 so I would expect for the extra $160 to get better performance.
Kobo will no doubt keep upgrading their software I have already applied one update which improved the way it works.
So I like them both but really now want the Kobo colour reader it sounds pretty amazing

That may be rectified in a future firmware update, in addition to other new features -- PDF reflow, for one, seems a strong possibility.

Both the 350 and 650 have been available in Australia for almost a week now*. It's probably the same in NZ.

* (In the local Sony Centres, that is. I don't know about orders from the SonyStyle online store.)
They have been available in New Zealand (350 and 650) since the second week in September in Sony stores and online.
I have had my 650 for 3 weeks.

I have a 650, my wife has a Kobo. There is no doubt that the 650 has a crisper screen with better contrast but in my opinion the Kobo screen is more comfortable to read from, and both the Sony and Kobo are easier on the eyes than paper. I agree with those that suggest it is probably the font that Kobo have chosen.

If you want to see pictures showing the 505 screen compared to the 650 and the 600 screen compared to the 650, look at my review at The Gadgeteer: http://the-gadgeteer.com/2010/09/28/...reader-review/
