When it comes to electronics, It is wise to never throw away the box they came in. The example in the op is a good example, plus having the box is a plus if and when you want to resell. People complain about not having space to store empty boxes, well fill them up with things that live in closets and do not see the light of day that you can not or will not throw away. Or boxes stored in boxes.

Heck, I kept the boxes my Kindles came in so that I could have a complete set just incase the K1 becomes a collectible.
