All your points though, are reason enough to feel contempt for journalism in general and be suspicious of those who practice it. As a discipline it is in a tragic, and I fear, an ultimately fatal decline.

Which is worse? To have your character ruined by someone with a political agenda? Or by someone so lazy that they can't be bothered check what is given them? OR, by someone who has an amoral contempt for you and who secretly believes the sole reason for your existence is to be a canvas that they can color any way they think will sell?

True, journalism has never been what it used to be. But it's all so sleazy any more.
