If they could get a deal with one of these writers, something like releasing chapters like episodes, they could make a ton of money and sell e-ink devices like hot cakes.
In the XIXth century, many classics were released like this afterall...

This is now used widely in Podiobooks. Have a look at podiobooks.com

Interesting. The podcast approach is appealing, the same thing could be done with text files afterall, RSS enclosures supports anything. I'll add something like that for Feedbooks: customized feeds for amateur writers, this way you can keep track of their work and autosynchronize their books on your reader.
