sorry, but amazon has no problem pulling whatever they want to, not "one book from peoples kindles!" just a week or so ago they pulled a paid-for, downloaded video on demand from my computer--that's right, reached in and eliminated--or otherwise disabled; it's gone--my downloaded file and refunded my money without even asking me if i wanted that, after i had spent nearly 8 hours working to render it visible. why? i had simply sent them an email query at the beginning of those eight hours asking why it wasn't viewable, and they had just gotten around to reading it. eight hours of work, gone! and i have no video to show for it, for which i'd paid in full. their only response? they suggested i buy their flawed, unviewable video on demand once again and then work on it some more.

i assume if amazon can do this, albeit illegally, anyone can. but it's amazon that did do it, to me, and it's amazon i won't be buying through anymore.

DRM is very easily stripped now adays.

nevermind the fact that if someone did hack into your account for malicous reasons there would be nothing stopping them of not just stripping the DRM and stealing the books but going through and permantley deleting your library.

You can't strip or delete what's not there.

Barnes and Noble without a doubt did the right thing in every manner

To the OP, obviously someone was trying to hack into your account ONLINE, just because you hadn't touched your nook in a long time, doesn't mean your account was untouched.

On another note, I also strip the DRM from all the books I buy from B&N. But I suppose if someone tried to hack into my account, B&N could still limit my access? If that ever happens, I'll just throw it out the window, roll over it with my car, call my mommy and tell her it's not fair, and then throw myself on the floor and have a little fit. (did I take that a little too far? LOL)
