Don't forget Baen Books (www.webscription.net) for science fiction and fantasy. Great prices, no DRM, multiple formats.

Download all the book apps and buy from whichever one has the best price at the time. I did that with my netbook and I can get any book out there.

There are multiple apps you can find in the App Store on your iPad. I have the following apps that I have downloaded from the App Store: iBooks, Kindle, Nook, and Borders. Each app is a little different but you will find one you like better than others based on your personal preferences. For now, I find myself using the Kindle app most frequently. I usually turn off the auto rotation when I'm reading as I don't like the screen rotating as I shift positions. There are free eBooks available for each app which will give you a chance to try them out to find which one you like the best. Each app offers a different feature set that will impact your choice. I'm looking forward to the standardization that will inevitably take place in the future.

Welcome and enjoy your iPad.
