You see, that is not a direct quote.

A direct quote is something you ascribe to an individual,

No, an intelligent boyfriend wouldn't be so stupid as to drive 450 kilometres when they won't leave the car at the festival parking grounds, as that would be utter idiocy.
I never suggested either, the entire thread discusses both possibilities. See this is what happens when you arrive late to the conversation.

I shall say this slowly. A-n i-n-d-i-v-i-d-u-a-l, n-o-t t-h-e g-r-o-u-p, c-a-l-l-e-d t-h-e O-P l-a-z-y.

A good boyfriend would drive 1000km and fix the car.

Finally some levity in the day, I was worried about everyone here being so serious.

Now I am smiling.

Actually, it doesn't help to move the goal posts once again. You claimed the "group" was calling the OP names. One of your examples was "lazy", thus implying it was the group choir singing completely in tune with one another calling her those names, one of which being "lazy".

No. It would utterly daft to do so.
I'm not a mechanic, and with todays cars, even if I were a mechanic, it's quite difficult to do anything without having a computer thingymajic attached plus having the spare parts.

I maintain it would be daft to go on the run over there. Especially as she's an adult and she's doing fine without me driving across the country to hold her hand.

OK if you wanted to make me laugh you did, All I can picture is a Monty Python skit with with the boys singing Lazy in Unison. Thanks again for the laugh. On the topic note, no goal posts were changed, the group was rude. It really is now a matter of semantics. potato or potato who cares. The outcome was the same, a bunch of rude folks throwing barbs at the new OP with mods only getting angry once the long time members were insulted.

As far as the car goes, you are clearly no Macgyver. I am sure you are a good person though, just not industrious with duct tape and a pocket knife.
