Can't you open it with neooffice?

I know nothing about neooffice but I have the new MS Office at work and I'll tell you where to find the properties tomorrow when I'm back there. Unless someone else can help you in the meantime.

Not I, I use Open Office.

Another option though would be to just open it, copy everything out of it, and start a new one. Assuming that your version is not set up with someone else's name like your work version you should end up with a file with either no properties set or your own.

Different computers-- I was going to do that, but I turned in my mac that has neooffice(school computer). And I only have a pc woith a trial of docx. But I will do that I'm more annoyed that I don't understand the "why."

I would uninstall the trial so that it doesn't open docs if you don't want it to, and then install OpenOffice. You can open Word documents with Open Office, and I'm sure you will be able to edit the properties.

what I was going to suggest .... virgin document and the existing text CV.....
