Sure, it'll happen with time, and hopefully said wife and I will be able to deal with him/her/them. But alas, I have first to find a wife.

And to be honest, from being a teenager and counseling other teens through family crap, I've discovered that the issue isn't so much teenagers as it is the ability of the parent and teenager to appropriately relate. The only families I've seen willing to fix this are also families who were willing to take the time and sit down with their children to explain things and talk them through and come up with a conclusion that works, rather than just something that one of said parties wants. The children that I've seen tend to live down to their parents expectations rather than live up to their own potential.

Nope, no shake up. But maybe, if you're lucky, I'll get to come back out to Seattle some day

Wait, I don't get it. If you wanted a beer, why would you want a belt if it took too long?

Seriously though, most of the time our kids love to help out and do things for us. The problem is, at least with the 7 year old, is that his help often ends up taking more time to unhelp than it would have to do it alone in the first place It is so hard sometimes to not step in and try to help him helping us.

I have always found, as an outsider, that children are an interesting concept.
