Sure, it'll happen with time, and hopefully said wife and I will be able to deal with him/her/them. But alas, I have first to find a wife.
And to be honest, from being a teenager and counseling other teens through family crap, I've discovered that the issue isn't so much teenagers as it is the ability of the parent and teenager to appropriately relate. The only families I've seen willing to fix this are also families who were willing to take the time and sit down with their children to explain things and talk them through and come up with a conclusion that works, rather than just something that one of said parties wants.
