Bad idea as well. From my experience, googling something like "new firmware xxx" leads you to loads of fora with peole asking "when will new firmware xxx" or, for that matter, "is there any firmware xxx yet". That´s time consuming and in most cases not helpful at all.
Just subscribe to that blog of theirs, and you´ll know when it´s done.

Mind you, I was not trying to be rude, but we had some very lasting arguments about that same topic the last time bookeen announce an update. (Hence those ironical statements now and then).
