Device: Kindle 2 in Canada, iPad wifi only
That app was probably Proloquo2Go which at $200 is expensive for an iPad/iPhone app but it is extremely cheap compared to the alternatives. $500 for an iPad plus $200 for the software for a total of $700 compared to $8000?

yep know someone who uses the app it has been fantastic for them! a real life changer.

And the iPad is far better suited for this application (than the iPod touch or iPhone) as the bigger screen allows for more icons per screen and the built in speakers negate the need for an external speaker. This is especially true if the person using the device has problems with their fine motor skills as they may have trouble accurately touching a very small button on a touchscreen.

Wow!! Pretty slick. The weight would keep you indoors with it though - whereas the 1.5 lb of the iPad makes it pretty portable. I haven't played with one yet, but I'm hoping it will allow me to sketch on-site in the great outdoors, as long as there is some shade.
