Picked up a unit at Borders in SF last Saturday...

...have already read four books and have yet to have the battery fall below four bars.

Holy Smokes! I finally have the book in hand and I am stunned. It is absolutely gorgeous. Set up was a snap as was the dowloading of books from the Connect Store. It is better than I expected!

Now comes the fun part of experimenting with formats, converting files and adjusting to fit.

just got mine from Borders yesterday

So far I think it is *great* Definitely there is room for improvement but reading from it is easy, comfortable and fast. I'm not bothered at all by the screen refresh.
I bought a leather cover which I will return. Was told that it didn't come with a cover but it does and the standard included cover is adequate for my needs. I also bought the cradle and am glad that I did but shouldn't this be included with the reader?

Just picked up mine at the Border's on 72nd and Dodge in Omaha Nebraska. You do have to see this thing in person to believe it, the screen is so readable screenshots don't do it justice. I'm glad I got one before Thanksgiving so I can show it off to the family.

Excellent, I didn't think that Fry's would have them so quickly!

I ordered mine, but the Sony site says I might have to wait until the 30th before it ships. Will add my count when I get my new toy!

Congrats diablo!!! Patience finally pays off.
Would love to see you start a thread to give us a peek at what you think of it after you've played with it a bit!

I'm doing the "Snoopy Dance" for you, DiabloNL. Well, figuratively, I'm not up to that much effort at the moment, my cold's trying to crawl down into my chest.

But, anyway, I'm as pleased for you as I'm physically able to be at the moment!

Initial Thoughts

I got mine October 31. It's a pretty unit. Battery life is wonderful. It's hard to read in less than bright light ON THE SMALL FONTS, but increase the font size and it's fine. Software 1.0 is functional but barebones. All in all I am delighted.
