Haha. I didn't know that. I just know I read an article in Entertainment Weekly by him a few years ago where he said he liked the Kindle, and that was the first I ever heard of an ebook reader.

Apparently he only did that to give retailers a chance to make some coin on the hardcover. Only to have the big box stores discount the hard cover so deeply they ended up being a loss leader and the smaller guys really got screwed.

I remember reading an article after this where King said he sure didn't see that coming. Don't remember if it mentioned whether there would be delayed releases going forward.

Either way, I have so much to read, I don't mind if I have to wait a little longer for the ebook version - as long as I can get an ebook version.

Essentially a 100% rebate is buy 2 for 1. Which is 50%
You buy one book for 16.11 and you can buy one at equal price or less.
Another way to do the math is as follow:
Two books cost $32.22 and you paid only $16.11

$32.22/$16.11 = 50%

=X=
I guess that is one way to look at it. Though you really aren't getting the first book at 50% off, at least that is what my credit card statement tells me.

Bottom line is 100% rebate makes me feel all tingly and good inside.

At least it's a 100% rebate so you can then turn around and buy something else at a more reasonable price. So it's not too bad. But if it wasn't for the 100% rebate, it would be that bad.

Ok, if I was to buy just two Grisham eBooks, which two should I get?

Right that is why I called it a 2-for-1 because you have to pay the full price of the first book to get the second book free. You will notice there is no additional charges on your CC for the second book .

And your right it doesn't feel like it's a 50% discount especially if your interested in only one book. What I started doing is putting books I really want in my wish list. Then buy both books back to back to make it feel like I'm getting my rebates.

But I'm total with you here, I'd rather get 50% right of the top than have to use micropay rebates to redeem a 2nd book.

Right now I have almost $100 in micropay dollars. I just keep buying books with the 100% rebate. Gotta start spending some of those.

The nice thing is all the books I bought to get the micropay dollars are obviously paid for and the cost of them has been 'forgotten' so to speak - so now at some future point when I actually do spend the micropay dollars, it will feel like I am getting a bunch of stuff for free.

That's where I'm at. hardback -> paperback -> ebook

It's not ideal (Baen is ideal) but I can live with it.

Try using your micropay to buy the 100% micropay rebate books. It's only supposed to work with a credit card but recently it has been going through no problem.

It will go through if you use your micropay dollars, but you don't get the 100% rebate. Just tried. Unless you had stumbled upon some 'bug' they've fixed over the last couple of days.
