"The DR-900 supports PDF, TXT, ePub, HTML documents, Audible (formats 4, Audible Enhanced (AAX)), MP3 audio and JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP image files."
No mention of DRM support. 2 weeks battery life with the wifi off has been mentioned. |

Does anyone know what the difference between the DR-900 and the DR-950 that was mentioned back in January?

it appears to be just the number- but it could also be the difference between wifi and 3g.
10,000 page turns has be stated as battery life with wirless off. 4-5 days with use of wireless. I read that under 300 euro somewhere else as well. with the normal "trade" 1-1 for dollars that means $300 may be possible. |

I have seen April and May (both for the UK). September seems unlikely. On the other hand Asus is often late with new devices - perhaps because they pre-announce more than most vendors.

So is it true that the only benefit of SiPix is that it's cheaper than eink, but has less DPI etc?
What are the thin slots on the bottom for? No one mentioned anything about SD card slots, has this been confirmed yet? EDIT: Just checked engadget's video and the reporter casually said that the slot is for micro SD cards. Guess all I need to know now is how it sorts your books and files and whether it supports chinese and kanji characters. Last edited by snuffed; 03-04-2010 at 09:20 AM. |

It seems true. The new irex 8" has 1024x768, the same as in the asus 9". The main advantage of the non e-ink is the full plastic construction; they should not break the first time you drop it.

I don't believe the contrast is better, pilotbob.
However, the black point of the screens is darker. This does mean the white point is also darker: but that doesn't seem, by the videos, to matter as much. |

I said it "looks" better which is subjective.

Because it if the white wasn't also darker, then the contrast would be better. And it's been stated that it isn't.
