I had the same issue and it delayed the delivery of my first defective unit back to iRex by about 2 days. What is interesting is that I watched the UPS person package all the documentation together and put it in the envelope, including the power of attorney. Apparently this happens a fair amount of time. I'm beginning to think it's a generic phrase while they process a backlog of work Neither me or my local ups shipper ever had to provide any additional documentation so it's happening somewhere on the receiving end.

We order direct from HP, and their carriers ALWAYS (except once in 15 deliveries) claim "Customer requested future delivery" and then delay 2/3 days.

Yeah, mine had 5 import scans in "KOELN (COLOGNE), DE" over the course of 4 days with the power of attorney thing peppered in. It now says it arrived in "HERNE-BOERNIG, DE" about 3 hours ago.

Tyring to figure out what was going on by the scans was very confusing. I had U.S. based scans showing in the system with time stamps after corresponding Germany scans. Not sure how they managed that one and it wasn't a time zone issue.

On a positive note, my third device arrived this morning. It's charged and upgraded to 2.6.1. Given my past experience I hesitate to say all is well, but hopefully it will continue to work and I won't have to go for round four.

I hope they manage to turn yours around quickly.

All my delay was at iRex's fulfillment partner.

My replacement unit appeared at the door today but alas my wife was out.

I expect we'll be having lunch again tomorrow after she gets the unit.

iRex contacted me yesterday and offered that if I can provide a "shipper recite" they will refund me the cost of shipping the unit back to them.

So, if you don't get your return shipping label, and you think you can get UPS to sing a tune for you, you may get your money back.

Ugh, if it's not one thing it's another. I am off today, which is when my delivery was supposed to come. I went to the tracking site, only to find out that Irex forgot to put my street address on the package when it was sent out. They will try to redeliver today, but it will most likely come tomorrow, probably while I am at work.

I have never seen a company handle this end of the business so poorly and hope I never do again. Those of you with working Iliads, pray pray pray you never ever have to deal with their support.

I lucked out and happened to be home when UPS delivered my replacement unit. I charged it up and got a bit nervous a few hours later when I saw the light go out, only to realize this was normal after a full charge.

I am not nearly as good at programming as many of you here are, but I will enjoy exploring ways of getting content on my device. I have already converted .lit files to mobi and ebookwise formats, so now it's the Iliads turn. It may be a no no, but if I pay for a book I should be able to read it on what I choose.

I just feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop with this unit after all the previous trouble I had, but for now it seems to be working as advertidsed.
