Shel's just carryin' the fine MR Unutterably Silly tradition of sorting the ABBAphiles from the ABBAphobes. It's a fight amongst friends (and by "fight"...it's more of a food fight...kinda like chocolate versus doughnuts).

No harm or fowl...except for that waterfowl...the one with the webbed feet and that prominent bill, kinda daffy...?

That is why I'm thankful for this thread. It gives us ABBA fans a place to discuss a group that we like. It also gives us a chance to find some songs that we may not be aware of (and there is still a potential 10th ABBA album).

ABBA may not be considered a cool group by many, but like many other "uncool" groups/acts (Barry Manilow, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Gene Cotton, Rupert Holmes, The Monkees, the Partridge Family, Edward Bear, Valdy, and The Captain and Tennille are just a few that come to mind) they did release some great music. As ABBA matured, they released many songs that were far more emotional and mature than their earlier songs. As an example, I'd put ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All" against any song when it comes to sheer emotional power.

Hon, I was JOKING. I know all about DGma's Abba fixation. I actually LIKE Abba, myself. Besides, it wasn't Abba that was scary - it's the posters!!
