I have three Noreve cases.

They're expensive and they're worth it - in my opinion. The style I chose raised the price to almost $100 each.

They use a "rail" system, whereby the Reader slide into the case. The footprint of the case is about the same as the Reader.

I have two Noreve cases: One each for my two Kindle 2s.

I have one Noreve case for my Sony 600.

Expensive and well worth it.

Dear Don:

Valuable feedback. That is the impression I got. Expensive but worth it.

Stylz Case has a big thick pad

Dear Solicitous:

Great question. The Stylz case has the cards and SD cards on one side and the pad on the other. This is not a soft pad like a gauze bandage... it is a very hard pad wrapped in glove-soft leather. It is cut in such a way that it perfectly fits the sloped sides surrounding the actual screen. Protects without actually fully touching the screen. The pad is hard enough that the SD cards do NOT exert pressure thru the pad at all. It is a VERY clever design. Pretty amazing how they did that!

I wouldn't recommend buying the Stylz case, not because I had it and didn't like it, but the customer service they give you SUCKS. I purchased one last week and paid paypal, no confirmation of order, no confirmation of shipment, nothing. When I log into the site it says that I have 'no orders being processed.' Concerned, I e-mailed them. No answer. I waited a full 48 hours because I understand the time zones are very different. I e-mailed again. Still not answer. I will wait the full month and if there is still nothing, I will report to paypal.

I like the stock case because it is very sturdy and I feel it protects the device well, though it's not the most stylish thing. I'd be interested in a third-party case, but since I take my Pocket Pro practically everywhere (it even went to a hockey game with me in November), I am mostly concerned about protection. I got the impression from a previous thread that the Stylz case does not have the stiff casing of the stock case. Is that not the case? Is the Stylz case as protective (or nearly so) as the stock case?

Somebody a while back linked to some beautiful cases with Celtic knotwork embossed into them--which manufacturer was that?

Looking for maybe a zippered case

With the flip case like pictured where the unit slips into a leather pocket when closed the entire unit is protected with the exception of a small cutout that would be open to access the scroll wheel. I live in Western Oklahoma where at times it is extreamly windy and dusty and I would like to have something that would cover the top and protect the USB jack and the SD port from dust/dirt. Especialy since one thing I am looking forward to being able to do with this is take it camping with me when I am out on my motorcycle.
Dear kdf:

You are not wrong of course, but in reality the Stylz case does a pretty good job of protecting the USB port and SD card slot. You are right that it will not keep out dirt and debris totally... but there is a good solid 1/4 inch of hard edged case to protect these items from penetration or accidentally breaking the SD card slot witha side force on the SD card. It is recessed plenty to take care of almost all problems of that nature.

SD card slots are pretty hard to ruin with dirt and debris in actuality. You may occasionally want to observe and see if anything has worked down in there... but that is about it.

I know of no zippered cases yet.

Often a fake SD card is shipped installed in an SD card slot. Most people throw them away but for best results a fake card or a real card should always be installed to prevent dirt from accumulating on the connection pins and entering into the device via that opening.

Dear Maggie:

I hardly ever see you on here anymore and I am glad you are back.

The STYLZ case is MORE protective than the standard case. This is a bi-fold case... meaning there are three panels. The Front panel is soft and pliable. The Back panel is as hard as the standard case. Both are covered in thick, buttery-soft leather. However, the third panel (also finished in buttery-soft leather) holds SD cards and business cards and such; but when you close the panel it has a pad that protrudes and fits precisely into the beveled edges of the Pocket PRO around the screen. This is a hard pad that totally protects the screen without touching it (as it only comes about half way down the bevel). It uses (new) standard clips to hold the device. I would not advise trying; but you may be able to stand on it (I make no actaul claim here.... just trying to explain it is great protection). I would say this is pretty close to ingenious!!

I got mine very easily and quickly. But, they seem to have nobody answering emails. I can only speak for me; but my experience was alright with them and the case is a pure joy! The cases come in five great colors. The quality is readily apparent thoughout.

Last year they announced plans to design a case for the Sony PRS300. Several of us here wrote them asking that they design a case for the Pocket Pro but no reply other than a personalized thank you from Oberon.

It's a small, family owned company. They reported on Facebook that when they came back to work after Christmas they discovered they were slammed with orders, especially for nooks. Apparently they put making new designs on hold until they catch up with current work.

I have one of their cases for my PRS505 and it made the two year old reader feel new again...better than new really. It uses leather loops at the corners and ignores Sony's plastic clips; the leather loops work better than the plastic solution. Plastic can break (does it all the time for PRS 505s anyway) and holds the reader very securely without getting in the way. Oberon cases are great. I still hope they will make one for the Pocket Pro.

Reviving my old(ish) thread...

So has there been any developments? Any new cases we can use for PP?
I have considered STYLZ.. but i dont need the extra flap. Plus i like the magnetic closure of the stock case.
BUT I HATE THE COLOUR.. ok hate is a strong word... but i do dislike it every time i lay eyes on it.

Its a petty complaint i admit. But its the cover that we see mainly... so i want it to look nice.

has anyone tried the stock case from the sony pocket edition? Would it fit? It does come in nice colours...

Dear Smarty:

I have had my Stylz case for about 5 months now and it looks new after traveling with me everywhere.

The extra flap is there to protect the screen and does a marvelous job of that. It is the only one I have seen with a beveled edge that fits the Pocket PRO beveled screen precisely. The leather is just totally buttery soft and feels like a million bucks.

For $24.99 I would call this a REAL bargain!!

Hey Smarty,

I am not a big fan of the stock case colour either. Well, I got lucky, I have a mate who has an Opus pocket case. I tried it out on the PP and if fit perfectly. Then, I asked about the case on the Bookeen thread at MR. Luckily, one of our fellow MR komrades has a Noreve case for his Opus, So, He gave me his Opus pocket cover.

I love the pocket cover. It fits perfectly for the PP, and lets me read and hold the PP without a Cover on which I prefer. I can put the Cover in my pocket easily while I read. Not sure if Bookeen will sell you a cover but you could ask.

They are switching out their stock. They announced on Facebook that they are designing new cases but the only one the spoke about specifically was one for the Apple iPad. They are going to present the new designs "in May." I've got my fingers crossed. I'll post here if they announce something for the Pocket Pro.
