In case it helps anyone else...I received an email yesterday to notify me that my order (#508) is in the "Paid not shipped status". I replied to it asking when it would be delivered. This is their reply:

"Dear Customer,

At the current pace of dealing with orders, most likely next week.
You will be informed as soon as shipment begins.
Regards,
iRex Shop"

my device is version 2.4

I just received info from iRex about the issues I was having.
The notes function works, but the template you need to use it wasn't on my device (because of all the rush with getting it out early and everything). He sent the files and I'll be testing it sometime today.

PDF zooming is not working at the moment, will be implemented soon...that is one of the resaons why i'm not reading right now...^^

I'm going to make my book i've been reading on my PDA Iliad sized PDF so that I can continue reading.
But to be honest i'm much to excited right now to really read...I'm trying out all the featueres right now...^^

btw....my girlfirend just gave the Notes-section a testdrive and it works great! I haven't managed to save anything yet, but it looks good and feels goo to write on the Iliad. It's not quite like paper because it#s slightly (but only slightly) slow and the device is not as flat as a piece of paper.
It's a bit like writing on an A5 sized block of paper.

but it's sooooooo cool!!!

I'll do more research after lunch, but unfortuantely I have some other work waiting as well, so I don't know how much i'll be able to do...^^

use pdfcrop, available in the LaTeX distribution, to resize your pdfs to get just the text without margins.

From what I've seen so far, I assume the GUI is an application that simply lists all files. When you select a file, it spawns the matching application (or worse: a plugin / built-in module) depending on file type. Notice that irex docs/statements never speak about "applications", but rather "readers".

So you need an empty file of type "notes" to edit it.

(All of this is just a guess.)

yes, but there are "templates" that you can use to write in...^^
one contains 100 empty pages, another contains lines (like on lined paper) for better writing etc.

He said the notes funtion was there but required a template which had been left off.

I assume the files he is talking about would be the template.

This sounds great - if saving is also working ...
