PRS-300 Decrypt lrf to read on reader [NOTE: OP meant LRX] - Page 3

I have an SD card that I use for my 505, when I tried to use it in my 600 the status bar would go and go and go until finally it would shut my reader down. I would start it back up and it would do the same thing. I ended up just buying a Pro Duo card for the 600 and adding all my books onto that. BUT I can still read the same books on my 600 as my 505, I just have to add them to the device. So now I have 2 memory cards, with books that I read on my 505 and 600, but can't use the SD for my 600. Since my 505 is being repaired, I don't know if I can put in the Pro Duo and read the books on that card. When it comes back I'll have to try it, cuz it doesn't make much sense to me either....

That makes it sound like the reader is not registered, or maybe that lrx file is not properly encoded for the 600 reader. I guess that might make sense if the file was purchased before the 600 was connected/registered.

Hmmm.....

I'm pretty sure some others here were about to do what you just tried and it worked.

I can copy/paste, but the message comes on when I try to open the LRX book on my Sony 600.

The Reader is certainly registered: It states so on the manage page.

If anyone has any suggestions.....

I'm unsure how the DRM works on lrx so maybe someone else who knows more can suggest something....

Just some questions to help solve the problem.

Can you open the lrx and read it using the Reader Library software?

When you tried to drag it to the reader using the Reader Library software you didn't get the message to "Re-download the ePub version"? (I've seen others mention this before somewhere.)

Have you tried dragging it to your reader using ADE?

Yes, I can read LRX files on the Reader Library.

What do you mean about the last question, the one about ADE, please?

ADE shouldn't have anything to do with LRX files just DRM-EPUB

I experienced the same problem (discussed in an earlier thread). In my case I had purchased the LRX book prior to purchasing and registering my PRS-600 and suspect that's the cause of the problem. The PRS 600 doesn't know that the LRX files was properly registered to it. The Sony software performs that function.

All I can do is wait for Sony to make the LRX book I purchased from them available in ePub format....

That what I was saying above. I don't think I heard from Don whether that was case with his issue or not.

Yes, all my LRX files were purchased before the 600 was registered. I purchased the Sony 600 two days ago.

About the Sony 505: The LRX files were all purchased after my Sony 505 was purchased. Interestingly, I have no problem - even now - in moving LRX files on and off my 505. ----- But adding an LRX file to my 600 just isn't happening.)

Sounds like the same issue Joe is having.....maybe an unanticipated bug in the move to epub. ??

It's weird, b/c except for the SD problem I'm having with my 600, I can read all the books I've purchased for my 505 on my 600.
