Ho yeah that right, you say to people to use a more bugged firmware just because a small cosmeticonly bug?
It's not a cosmetic bug, it's broken functionality.

On the 1.4/1.9 there is too some bugs that can led to loose all the content of you device, so you still prefer to use the "big buggy with metadata" against the "not buggy without metadata" ?
I never experienced these bugs, nor had I heard about them. Can you elaborate on these? The only issue I had with 1.9 was the occasional freeze.

I can't argue with you there Eowyn, the freezing is certainly much more annoying and the only issue I know of which was actually disruptive to reading.

I'm still interested to know about these file loss bugs Godzil mentions. Can Godzil or someone else confirm they have had these problems and provide some detail? I can't find any mention of it in the forums.

They only circumstance in which people generally "lose" files is if they have a corrupt file system, and that's almost always caused by not dismounting the device safely before disconnecting the USB cable.

Not only, the 400Mhz version had problem with Filesystem corruption due to the nature of the NAND Flash in previous firmware version...

Thanks, Godzil, I wasn't aware of that. Has it been sorted with the new firmware?

If I understand correctly, yes, since they tell us to switch to 1.5/2.0 if you have some problem with accessing files or reformating the device
