I was somewhat disapointed with Rogue Hunter II. I'm not a big fan of short stories to begin with; I barely get comfortable with the the plot & the characters and I'm at the end. I felt this way with this book as well.

Treven,

I certainly understand your reservation with short stories and fully admit that they are not for everyone. Truth is, Rogue Hunter Gaia is my way of allowing readers to sample my writing beyond the typical sample that one would get from an ebook store. Many readers are reluctant to purchase books by authors they are unfamiliar with. My goal with Rogue Hunter Gaia is to give readers a taste of my writing style by telling a complete story with a clear beginning, middle, and end (which has been vetted by a number of beta-readers and a professional editor)--and at no expense other than a minimal investment of a reader's time. Each installment of Rogue Hunter Gaia includes excerpts from my novels, further enabling readers to sample even more of my writing. If they feel that my material interests them, then they can make the decision to try one of my longer works.

Like the pilot episode of a new t.v. show, Rogue Hunter Gaia is the introductory tale to what is going to be a much longer and fully fleshed out series. If you are still interested in seeing where the story goes from here, I invite you to check out the next book. But if not, then I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story with you.

While I am not a big fan of the short story either. I think this is absolutely great for both the author but even more so for the reader. I get a chance to get a taste of your writing style and decide if you are going to take me to that place that sometimes happens only in a page of a book.

I still haven't read your stuff yet but I am looking forward to it.

Bah you know what I'm going to jump you forward in my reading list. So you have been moved up like 39 places lol. So once I finish my the series I am reading (2nd book of a 3 book series) you're next.

You know, the wonderful thing about being able to sample an author's work in this fashion is that you get to know if he or she writes the kind of material you enjoy reading without getting burned in the pocket. But even more precious than the money lost purchasing a book that does not meet a reader's standard is the time that reader loses trying to sludge through said book.

I don't expect everyone to like my books. In fact, it would be a rather dull world if everyone had the same taste. But the great thing about being able to showcase my work in this manner is that the people looking for the kind of stories that I tell will have a chance to discover them while the ones who don't won't have to feel cheated by investing time or money in them either.

I really can't thank you and the other members of this forum enough for the kind support. I can only hope that you'll find my books worthy of your precious reading time.

Don't get me wrong, I did like what I'd read; plus the first book. I was merely disapointed when all of a sudden I was at the end!

Treven,

I'm ecstatic to hear that you did enjoy the story! I mistook your dissappointment of the length of the ebook with that of the quality of the tale itself. To be honest, I'm putting a lot of work into making sure each and every Rogue Hunter book is the best that it can be. I'm working with a team of very talented people who won't allow me to publish my books until they are ready. In fact, I have a few author friends who'll be contributing to Rogue Hunter very soon.

As I mentioned before, the purpose of Rogue Hunter Gaia is to wet your appetite for the full course meal that's about to be served up. I'm very thankful to hear that you will give me a chance to showcase Rogue Hunter in its full glory. Can't thank you enough for your wonderful support!

Sabredog,

Thank you so much for letting me know you enjoyed Rogue Hunter. Am I right to assume that you read all 3 Rogue Hunter books? Either way, it fills me with joy to know that you had an enjoyable experience reading my books. BTW, the final installment of Rogue Hunter Gaia should be available in a few days. Just have to work out the kinks with my editor.

In the meantime, I'm honored to have you share my story with me. I'll do my best to make certain the Rogue Hunter sequels live up to your expectation. Cheers!

I have indeed

An unexpected but great side effect of grabbing your books from Smashwords is all the other books I have found there. Most excellent!

Couldn't agree with you more. I've discovered some terrific authors at Smashwords myself and am enjoying reading their works immensely. I feel like a kid a candy store with all of the great books out there!

I read both your two freebie books today. Very interesting I enjoyed them. So I am going to grab you eBook Quest of the Hunter which I am assuming happens before Into the Abyss and Intruder and then your second full book will continue off of those two? So the freebie eBooks are like a small bridge between the two novels?

It's really great to hear from you, Guns4Hire. As it goes, Quest of the Hunter is technically the first of the first 3 main Rogue Hunter stories. Into the Abyss and Intruder, the first two installments of Rogue Hunter Gaia, occurs 2 years before the events of Quest of the Hunter. There is a complex and intricate number of events that lead to the events that takes place during the events of the sequel to Rogue Hunter 2. These are the stories that make up the prequels to Quest of the Hunter.

I want to thank you for reading my stories, as well as taking the time to review them. I'm hoping you'll find Quest of the Hunter to be a satisfying read. I am honored to know that you are willing to give my longer stories a chance. Thanks for sharing the adventure with me.
