Where do you go to download the BN software?

Could you give me an exact location, preferably a link, of where I go to download the BN software.

Thanks in advance.

I agree on the control issue, and that Jeff Bezos won't want to do that. What I'm hoping is that eventually he'll be forced into it, though. As he was (in my opinion) with K4 PC.

I don't think Sony suck, they are a very clever hardware company and will probably lead Amazon in terms of hardware technology for many years.

As for Amazon, the DRM and regional publishing issues plague them for many consumers, but they are still poised to be the major player. If they can get some good hardware designers on board they will be much more successful. They need to pinch some of the hardware designers from a company like Apple and some software designers from Google.

Now I have three competitors for any book I want to read: Amazon, Sony AND Barnes & Noble.

I expect to eventually have all three readers: Amazon Kindle 2, Sony PRS 900 BC, and the Barnes & Noble Nook. When I buy each will depend on how many books I buy from each company.

For now I'll just read them on my PC.

I don't understand why people always say this. I have a Kindle. I shop around (and get) my content from plenty of places other than Amazon.

SONY's problem from a business standpoint is that they tend to make high quality products with a premium price and they don't really understand how to exploit the online software market (which would include the ebook market). The PS3 was certainly the superior console in terms of quality, and probably hardware, but floundered because of its high entry cost, lack of available software, and a less than engaging online presence. These same issues are making me think strongly about the nook or Kindle instead of the SONY Readers.

Frankly, of all the e-readers I've seen, I like the look and build of the SONY the best. But I also love the features of the Kindle and the ones that are proposed for the nook (assuming one ever sees the light of day.)

Or PDF. I bought a DX specifically because I wanted to load it with books for Role Playing Games, purchased from third parties like http://drivethrurpg.com. It has worked admirably for it! Now you could even load them onto a K2.
