My best friend's mom used to make Chocolate Gravy. Unfortunately, I have no idea how she did it. But she served it over hot biscuits and it was pretty darn good.

I love to cook. Recipe??

Dear All:

I do not want to pour Chocolate Gravy over cartoons like Griffy... but over Turkey or Meat that could be fabulous!!

Perhaps we need an Astak Recipes on our website.

Please realize that we are one month away from CES and going nuts. I have two speeched to give this week at Printed Electronics on eBook Readers. New models are being discussed and some confidential websites are being planned. Please be a bit patient with me during the holidays. CES itself takes 6 months to plan and the last month (December) is endless rushing. This year we have the "A Christmas Carol Gift Pack" to publicize and endless press releases.

One other person posted that I was ignoring him. I wasn't... I am just swamped. I am trying my best right now to stay intouch with all.

Wonder if this "chocolate gravy" is what our college cafeteria used to have? With breakfast, they would have plain (naked!) doughnuts -- and a huge tub of white icing and another huge tub on chocolate icing. Plus a bin of sprinkles. "Top your own" doughnut!

Though of us of the chocolaholic persuasion would fill a cereal bowl with the chocolate icing, and take one doughnut to dip it out with. Ahhhhhhh, those were the days!

Chocolate Gravy

These are all approximate, as I mostly do this by sight, not actual measurements.

3/4 cup sugar
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
dash of salt (NOT DISH.. that's too much!!)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 1/2 cups whole milk. Add more if needed.
1/4 cup butter

Directions

Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl. The sugar, flour, salt and cocoa.

Grab a pot. Pour in 2 cups of milk. Set to Medium heat.

Pour in the dry ingredients. Mix well. Cook until thick and creamy. Add more milk as it cooks to get the right creaminess suitable for you. Some like thick gravy, some like it a little more thin.

Once it's cooked to your taste, mix in the butter. You can also add in some vanilla flavouring, or even maple or coconut for a different taste.

This is served over homemade biscuits. You can substitute toast, rolls, or even bagels. There are about 4-6 servings here, depending on serving size.

Once you've come up with the right measurements for yourself (maybe a bit less sugar, more cocoa, less flour, or what) you can multiply the measurements and store them in a sealed container. Then use approximately 1 cup of the mix for each 4-6 servings.

EDIT -- Reminder.. as with all flour gravies, it will thicken a bit as it cools.. so keep that in mind when cooking. Make it ever so slightly more thin, and as it cools and is poured over your biscuits it will be the right thickness.

And for you English, I think our term for biscuit is your term for Scones.

Nope. This isnt icing or pudding, as it uses flour and cocoa, with sugar to sweeten it.

There are different varieties, and must be prepared differently.

The best-tasting genre are the 80s toons. Smurfs, Alvin & the Chipmunks, Care Bears. An afternoon in the forest with a 30-30 and a happy tune, and you can bag yourself a mighty fine breakfast.

Transformers and GoBots, Voltron and other similar cartoons should be avoided, as they have no real meat substance, and could lead to radiation poisoning!

The secret to preparing these delicacies is the skinning. Once skinned, they look remarkably the same, only an expert can tell the difference. And they taste somewhat alike as well. Also, no need to debone them, as their bones are actually rods of rock candy. YUM!

Simply skin, powder with sugar, soak in milk for 5 minutes, and bake for 15 minutes. Delish! Eat with 2 pieces of toast with Strawberry Shortcake jelly and a large glass of orange juice for a complete breakfast, kids!

Keep in mind, the more current the cartoon, the less sweet the taste. Spongebob has a hint of briny, and AquaTeenHungerForce wafts of moldy onion.

Is it better to squash Strawberry Shortcake yourself, or is store bought ok? And does including Strawberry Shortcake make it too sweet?

A freshly captured/skinned Strawberry Shortcake makes the best jelly. Also, If you can catch Blueberry Muffin, or Huckleberry Pie, those are also delicacies. A simple meat grinder is all you need to make jelly.

Oh, my mouth is watering already!
