It's an inversion image. What looks like a knife at the beginning is a cutout of a knife, and you are seing the background thru the holes. Great optical illusion...

see, I thought it was just a bit of metal and wood propped up haphazardly behind the acrylic to make sure that we the viewer actually saw the image in the acryllic

omg! this thread is making me laugh so hard Iʻm about to pee my pants (well, sort of comes with the territory when you pop a trio of kiddos out with some pretty intense births, so donʻt be *too* impressed. I can pee my pants just by sneezing)!

We should have a weekly art thread where we can all confuse each other with the meaning of the art in question! Perhaps Monday art day, since Monday is that evil day we all like to get through as quickly as possible. Having an art thread might really help....

(just to be clear here, Iʻm too lazy to actually seek out art and start such a thread, so someone else would have to do it)
