There are two version of kindle. If you feel like buying a kindle, make sure it's the "international" version.
I would also check books availlibily in brazil on amazon's website.
And have a look at the brazilian's publisher's offer. Make sure they use some format the kindle can read.

all of the new K2s are internationally capable now
