I have them both at the moment, and the 505 is noticeably faster than the 300.

Proof? Seems rather strange since everybody else say they're pretty much the same.

Hi Seventh Son, I don't have any proof other than what my eyes are telling me . I'm referring to page turn speed, and my 300 clearly takes longer to refresh the page than my 505. I guess it's possible that there is something wrong with my 300 - I will try to find one in a store and compare it to mine.

Seventh Son, yes I am reading "One Minute to Midnight" on both (I take the small one with me when I go to Starbuck's) You've got me thinking that maybe there is something wrong with my 300, so I will definitely go to a Sony store and compare. Thanks!

I don't think that's 100% correct, at least for internet/mail order/telephone purchases.

Consumers have a cooling off period in which they can withdraw from the contract for any reason. The cooling off period begins as soon as the order has been made. In the case of goods, it ends seven working days after the day of receipt of the goods.
You might have to cough up for the cost of shipping and a restocking fee or similar, but you do have a sort of legally protected buyer's remorse.

I've noticed this too. As far as I can tell, there is a very slight extra delay (a fraction of a second) between pressing the button and having the page turn flash appear on the 300 as compared to the 505. It is not noticeable generally, but pony in side-by-side direct testing. I handle this unconsciously by hitting the page turn button when I start the last line on the screen, instead of waiting until I finish the page.
